This is unbelievable, yet it really happened, several years ago.  A 16 year-old girl was kidnapped and held prisoner for four months.  Where?  In the attic of a church in Tennessee.

Week after week that congregation gathered to worship, to sing, to pray, to enjoy Christian fellowship—and for four months, in that very same building, there was a terrified human being that needed to be rescued.  Until she was discovered and released by two men on the church’s maintenance staff, that girl was a helpless captive.  (Our Daily Bread)

Imagine!  A prisoner in church!  But perhaps there are more people hidden away in church than we realize—people who have been taken captive by God’s diabolical enemy.

(2 Tim. 2:26)  Like the apostle Paul before his conversion, they may even think they are living for God while they are dead in sin.  There may be people in our churches who have not experienced spiritual freedom through faith in Jesus Christ.

Evangelist Billy Sunday remarked that taking a horse into a garage, doesn’t turn it into a car, nor does merely taking a sin-bound person into a church change him or her into a child of God.  Only personal faith in Jesus does that.

Are you a captive, or have you been set free?

 Special Thank you………

Dear Church Family,
We want to thank all of you for the calls, texts, cards, food, and especially your support and prayers.
We are so blessed to be a part of a wonderful church that not only believes in prayer, but are the hands and feet of Jesus. I will be having my last chemo infusion next week; followed by 6 weeks of radiation. God has been so faithful to walk with us during this difficult time. God is so good and so are His people at First Baptist Collinsville.
Please continue to pray for us.
We love you all,
Gene and Lana

Greetings,
We truly appreciate the recommendation you all gave us as we transition into the next season the Lord has for us. As we are preparing to begin seminary at Southeastern in Wake Forest, NC, please know we continue to ask His richest blessings upon the FBC family!
Grateful,Jordan, Ember & Eden Johnson (Phil. 4:8)
252 McDowell Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587

We would like to send a special thank you to all the hostess who threw us a baby shower for our sweet Tinley. Also, a special thank you to everyone who came and brought gifts for us. We are truly blessed with an amazing church family and couldn’t be more excited to raise Tinley in such a great place with amazing role models to help teach and guide her in her Christian walk.
Phillip and Sydney McDaniel

To our church family,
Words cannot express our appreciation for all the prayers, cards, calls, food and love that we have received in the last few weeks. The shoulder surgery was successful and now comes the healing.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely, Keith and Cathy Meyer
