Over the years, I have read and heard little snippets of wisdom.  I usually write them down somewhere and then occasionally run across them as I am cleaning out some of my files.  I thought I would use my article this month to share some of those wisdom words, which I found, written in one of my older Bibles.

  • Christ will not save a man, He cannot command.  A.W. Tozier
  • Other men see only hopeless end, but the Christian rejoices in endless hope.  Gilbert Benken
  • If your Christian life is a drag, worldly weights may be to blame.
  • Faith that fizzles at the finish, had a fatal flaw at the first.  Joel Gregory
  • Be who you is, because if you is who you ain’t, you ain’t who you is.
  • Study the Bible to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy.
  • We are most like God, when we forgive.
  • The wise person recognizes that the value of a gift is not found in the gift of a lover, but the love of the giver.
  • Obedience can be a challenge, especially when we feel tempted to believe that we stand to lose more through our obedience, than we might gain.
  • Purpose: What have you done that you believe in and you are proud of?

I pray that each of these words of wisdom will stay with you, as you focus your attention on serving the Lord, in a difficult world.  May they encourage and train you for Christ-like living.

I will leave you with one final word, which is so very important to our day and time.

  • He that has truth on his side, is a fool as well as a coward, if he is afraid to own it because of other men’s opinions.  Defoe

This a partial list: fruit cups, pudding cups, individual juices, small cans of ravioli, spaghetti Os, soups, meats, crackers, little Debbie snacks, fruit snacks. For a complete list, check your Sunday school classes or pick up one in the office. If you have any questions please contact Marilyn Head.

 Special Thank you………

Dear Christian Friends,

I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks for the cards, visits, calls, and especially the prayers before, during and following my recent surgery. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer; and know without a doubt I am here today in answer to those prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I still have some healing to get through but each day seems a little better.

In Christ,

Lucy (and Jerry) Brooke
