We invite you to join us for worship.

During a Monday night football game between the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants, several years ago; one of the announcers observed that Walter Payton had accumulated over nine miles, in career rushing yardage.  The other announcer remarked, “Yeah, and that’s with somebody knocking him down every 4.6 yards!”  Everybody gets knocked down, but the key to success is to get up and keep running.

Wilma didn’t get much of a head start in life.  A bout with polio left her leg crooked and her foot twisted inward, so she had to wear leg braces.  At age 12 Wilma tried out for a girls’ basketball team, but didn’t make it.  Determined, she practiced with a girlfriend and two boys every day.  The next year she made the team.  When a college track coach saw her during a game, he talked her into letting him train her as a runner.  By age 14 she had outrun the fastest sprinters in the U.S.  In 1956 Wilma made the U.S. Olympic Team, but showed poorly.  That bitter disappointment motivated her to work harder for the 1960 Olympics in Rome…and there Wilma Rudolph won three gold medals, the most a woman had ever won.

What do these two stories have in common?  They both speak to us about perseverance and determination. As children of God, there should be nothing, knocking us down, that we can’t get back up and continue living, for our Lord.  The world we live in has grown weak and spineless, but it should not be said of those alive in Christ.

No matter what challenges come your way, keep living the life of victory, to which we have been called.

Note this thought: Postage stamps continue to rise in price, but at least they have one attribute that we all could emulate; they stick to one thing until they get there.  Continue to stick to that one thing… life in Christ… until we get there!

 Special Thank you………

To all my friends and family, Thanks for helping make my 105th birthday one of the best. They get bigger and better each year. I appreciate all of you. Thanks again and may God bless each and every one of you.

In Christian Love, Evorie Graham

I truly appreciate all the prayers that FBC says for me! I believe prayer and faith has helped me through my journey. The prayers received from everyone has been very heartwarming. I am happy to say, I am cancer free and have finished radiation treatment. For now I will be on maintenance meds and continue to have yearly scans. I am getting stronger every day and life is getting back to normal. This was not a journey I expected to be on; but I am embracing it. I know that I have God on my side and He will take care of me.

Thank you all! Lisa McAden

God Chasers & Team Kids would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s summer camp fundraiser great! With the help of those who participated, donated and worked; 27 children were helped with camp expenses! The Lord blessed the hard work of everyone involved and just over $2600 was raised. Thank you all so very much!

I’d like to thank all who contributed to the Easter musical this year! Thanks to the choir for working hard to learn music, put in extra time, and sing the Easter story. Thanks to the instrumentalists for also putting in extra time to make everything come together so well. Thanks to those who shared the stories of people who encountered Jesus, bringing those encounters to life. Special thanks go to the media team for making everything look and sound amazing! A lot of work goes into making events like these happen, but we do it all for the glory of God! Thanks again for giving your time and talents to the Lord!  Ron
