A big question must be asked to each of us, who call ourselves, children of God, and servants of Christ.  “Am I motivated to take up the armor of God, and fight the battle, as I live for Christ?”

Toward the close of WW2, Allied forces were mopping up against remaining Nazi resistance.   One particular unit was assigned a crucial mission in Berlin.  Each soldier had to memorize a map detailing all of Berlin’s important military sites, and they had to do it in one night!  In just a few hours, each soldier in the unit had committed the map to memory.  The mission was a success.

Several years later, the Army conducted an experiment to see if that original feat could be duplicated.  They offered a similar unit an extra week’s furlough, if they could carry out a comparable mission without a hitch.

But the second unit could not match the success of the first.  What made the difference?  The lives of the man were not a stake.  Surviving in battle was greater motivation, than a week’s vacation.

Christian’s are engaged in spiritual warfare, and our road map, our plan of strategy against Satan’s military strongholds, is the Bible.  The more we read it, the more of it we memorize, and the more thoroughly we know it, the more effective we will be for God.

We must approach God’s Word as if our lives depended on it -- because they do!  That’s motivation!

BACK-PACK Buddies
The Back-pack Buddy program is an outreach project being organized through our Collinsville schools. A back-pack of nutritional foods is sent home on Fridays for students in need over the weekend. FBC will be contributing supplies to the school once a month to help with this project. This a partial list: fruit cups, pudding cups, individual juices, small cans of ravioli, spaghetti Os, soups, meats, crackers, little Debbie snacks, fruit snacks. For a complete list, check your Sunday school classes or pick up one in the office. If you have any questions please contact Marilyn Head.

Children’s church is for our 4 to 7 years old children. Children need to sit with their parent/parents. The children will be dismissed when the choir is dismissed. There will be attendants at the back to take the children to the classroom. You may pick up your children following the service, in the 1st & 2nd grade Sunday school classroom. Please direct your questions to our children’s church coordinator – Janelle Hodgkinson
